I fell in love with one of my subordinates and, against better judgment, I started dating her in secret. Our relationship was quite passionate, which I think was partially attributed to the taboo nature of the supervisor/subordinate coupling. We experienced a short-lived relief when the cat was finally out of the bag, and we dated publicly. However, I think the absence of danger/mystique in the relationship contributed to its ultimate demise. We stayed friends for about six months but eventually grew apart. By the way, I was reprimanded for the relationship. Something about "poor judgment" showed up on a subsequent performance appraisal.
